Theodore "Teddy" Moscynski, Sr.

Theodore “Teddy” Moscynski Sr. passed away Feb. 8, 2026, at the age of 90. Born July 30, 1935, Teddy lived a life marked by passion, adventure, and dedication -- especially to sailing. Ted was widely regarded as one of the finest captains of under-30-foot sailboats on Lake Erie and Lake Huron, winning numerous regattas and club races over the years. His love of sailing was central to his life and legacy. He was a charter member and past commodore of the West Shore Sail Club and was honored with induction into the Ford Yacht Club Hall of Fame, an honor he will receive posthumously in November.

Teddy also proudly served his country for nine years in the United States Air Force (USAF). Whether on the water, in uniform or at home, his commitment, discipline and generosity left an impression.

Teddy was a devoted family man who was deeply cherished by those who knew him. 

He is survived by his children, Ted Jr. (Beth), Michael, Joseph (Suzanne), Paula (Paul), and James (Julie); his grandchildren, Alicia, Andria, Sean, Sabrina, Jason, Jelana, Brianna, Mirissa, Ruby, and Michael; and six great-grandchildren. Ted is also survived by his brother, Michael, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ted’s passing followed the loss of his cherished wife, Virginia, his parents Mickey, and Josephine, as well as his sisters, Joan (Lee) and Connie (John).

Visitation is scheduled to take place between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Trenton Chapel of Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Road, Trenton, MI 48183. The service is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the same location, followed by a celebration of life luncheon (TBA).
