Thomas Carroll

THOMAS W. CARROLL “Tommy”, age 73, of Allen Park, Michigan. Dear brother of Jim (Sally) Carroll, kind uncle to Dan (Christy), David, and Brian (Vanessa) Carroll. Loving nephew of Fan (Gerry) Finerty, and cousin of Gerard and Mary Finerty. Life-long friends with Butch (Denise) Cronin and his family. Also leaves behind extended family and many close friends. Preceded in death by his parents James and Kathleen, and sister Kathleen.

Tommy graduated in 1968 from St. Gabriel’s High School. He was president of his senior class, played on the basketball team, and was an active participant in the Drama Club. Tommy wore many hats during his lifetime. He was employed by The Detroit News, served as a Detroit firefighter, and managed the Music Hall theater, which stimulated his enduring love of classic films. Tommy was known for his deep, abiding love for Ireland and Scotland, birthplaces of his parents. We’ll always remember his delightful stories from his many trips across the pond.

Visitation is on Wednesday December 7th, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Martenson Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to honor Tommy’s life may be made to The Salvation Army.
