Thomas Carl Pacheco

Our exceptional father, Tom Pacheco, was born on July 1st, 1963 to Edward Thomas Pacheco and Claire Jean Pacheco. Dad often told the story of our grandfather seeing our grandmother for the first time walking down the street. My grandfather pointed and declared “I’m going to marry that woman!” He did exactly that. We can only imagine our Dad shared a similar conviction when wedded to our mother, his “Baby Doll”, Michelle in 1988.

How impressed our mother must’ve been to see our young father exemplify a work ethic imparted to him while growing up in the family auto parts business, Mocar. He always remembered this period of life fondly, being able to work side by side with loved ones.

Our father taught by example. Care for family and friends, driven to complete the task at hand, early to rise, and prioritization of responsibility. What would we be without these essential motivations?

25 years ago, our father donated his kidney to his sister, Ruthanne. He considers this one of the best things he ever did. It wasn’t a question for him, it was a certainty. His kidney outlives him, and he would be proud of this fact. His last act was to donate his liver to a stranger in need.

His friends know his hobbies were numerous. The love of fiction, including superhero comic book stories, and their film adaptations. Star Wars and Star Trek. Fantasy novels. Playing Dungeons & Dragons with mirthful friends. The love of Van Halen’s music. All of this continued for the entirety of his adult life, to be shared with family and friends.

Those alive to love him are too numerous to name. A select few would be his wife Michelle, brother Dennis (Markese), brother Dave (Mary Anne), sister Ruthanne (Wayne) Kladder, sister-in-law Linda, sons Logan (Arielle) and Luke (Caroline). He is preceded in passing by his brothers Mark (Jennifer) and Jim.

We will ever struggle to meet the example he set for his sons, cousins, friends, and loved ones. I invite anyone who knew and loved him to do the same.
