Ursula Ruplenas, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Riverview, Michigan, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on February 2, 1926, in East Germany, Ursula’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and gentleness—a quiet strength that guided those around her through decades marked by change, hope, and unwavering love.

Ursula’s journey began in East Germany, where she developed the character and determination that would define her long and fruitful life. Throughout her years, Ursula was known not only for her graceful presence but also for her deeply nurturing spirit. She created a household warmed by her laughter, care, and her tireless devotion to family.

As a gifted seamstress, Ursula took joy in sewing, transforming simple fabrics into cherished creations for her loved ones. Her garden, lovingly tended, was always in bloom—a symbol of the beauty and patience that were hallmarks of her approach to life. An avid reader, Ursula’s mind was as vibrant as her garden, and she found delight in stories that opened the world to her, fueling conversations filled with wisdom and curiosity.

Ursula’s greatest pride was her family, who survive her and hold her memory close. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Irena (Raymond) Bartolo, who cherishes every lesson and moment shared. Ursula’s legacy continues through her goddaughter, Stacy Damman, and Stacy's children, Briggs Damman and Cosner Damman, whose lives have been indelibly shaped by her loving presence. Ursula also leaves behind her dear friend Jennifer, who was a steadfast companion and brought added warmth to Ursula’s later years.

Those who knew Ursula remember her gentle touch and thoughtful words. Whether sitting beside her as she read by a window bathed in afternoon sunlight, watching her hands deftly guide needle and thread, or walking with her among the garden blooms she so carefully nurtured, her loved ones felt the quiet strength of her love.

A century of memories now lives on in hearts grateful for the gift of Ursula's enduring presence. Her grace, perseverance, and unwavering affection remain an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Road.
