Veronica "Ronnie" Hatcher

It is with profound sadness that the family of Veronica (Sordini) Hatcher announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, Sept 14 at the age of 91 years during her stay at Fountain View Nursing Home in Monroe, Mi.

Veronica Hatcher was born on October 14, 1933 in Monroe. She married Marion Harold Hatcher April 19, 1952 in a private ceremony then continued to live with her parents until graduation when she told her family about the marriage. Ronnie and Harold were happily married 63 years and lived in Temperance, Mi until his death May 2, 2015. She then returned to Monroe where she lived with her sisters and then her brother.

Ronnie retired from both Sears and Lion Store, Toledo, Ohio. She was an avid reader of Romance novels, a Harley Davidson bike rider who loved to travel, a cancer survivor, and she had a witty, sharp sense of humor. She was also an ace Euchre player and her whole demeanor changed when nieces and nephews, brother and sisters and friends would visit her with a deck of cards and dessert to share. Ronnie was deeply religious and an active member of St John’s church of Monroe. She loved tiny Chihuahua dogs and enjoyed watching for red birds and butterflies.

Ronnie is survived by her beloved brother and caregiver Ret. Maj. Daniel L. Sordini Sr. of Monroe, Mi., sister Rose Marie (Sordini) Smith of Columbus, Mi., sister Mary Lou (Sordini) Cox of Galta, Ca. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and all their families. Ronnie joins her sister Anne Rita (Sordini) Darville, baby sister Carmela Sordini and parents August & Bernice Sordini.
