Vito Pizzo, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Lincoln Park, Michigan, on May 27, 2026. Born on November 12, 1950, in Cinisi, Sicily, Vito’s journey to the United States began at the age of seventeen when he set out in search of a better future. From those early days, it was clear that Vito was a man of great determination and deep familial love.
At eighteen, Vito met Nina, the love of his life, and the two would marry on April 19, 1969, embarking together on a lifelong partnership that blossomed into a beautiful family. Throughout his life, Vito demonstrated his steadfast dedication through tireless work, always striving to provide a better life for those he cherished. Despite the distance from his Sicilian roots, he remained firmly grounded in his traditions and proud heritage.
Vito’s pride and affection for his family were immeasurable. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nina Pizzo, and their children: Vita Evola, Margherita (Piero) DiMaggio, Giuseppe (Fara), and Antonino (Angella). His legacy continues through his many grandchildren—Giorgio and Giuseppe Pascucci, Antonella Evola, Francesca (Nathaniel) Jones, Antonina DiMaggio, Gaetano DiMaggio, Antonina Pizzo, Vito Pizzo, Isabella Pizzo, Stella Pizzo, Antonina Marie Pizzo, Aleza Pizzo, and Elleanora Pizzo—as well as his great-grandchildren, Rosella Jones and Valentina Jones, who will all carry forward the love and values he so deeply instilled.
Vito was the youngest of six children, raised alongside the late Vinceza, Filippo, Salvatore, Anna, and Maria, and was the cherished son of the late Giuseppe Pizzo and Vita Evola. His family extended far beyond bloodlines, enriched by the connections he nurtured throughout his life.
Surrounded by the tender care and affection of those who loved him most, Vito passed away exactly as he wished—at home, embraced by family. The community will gather in remembrance and to honor his legacy with visitation and Rosary services on Monday June 1, 2026, at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Road, Allen Park, MI. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the Rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. A service will follow on Tuesday June 2, 2026 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 9000 Laurence Avenue, Allen Park, MI, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery, Brownstown Twp., MI
Vito Pizzo’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and enduring loyalty to family and tradition. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who were fortunate to know him. His spirit lives on through the generations he so proudly nurtured and cherished.
