Vondell Spytko

Vondell (Pledge) Spytko was born on September 22, 1927, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2026. She lived a full life, enriched by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, James Pledge, Jr. and his wife Joan. Vondell cherished her grandchildren, Scott (Renee) Pledge and the late Janet Pledge-Walsh, who is remembered fondly with her husband Tim Walsh. She was a proud great-grandmother to Evan Pledge and Jemma Walsh. Additionally, Vondell was loved by her four nephews, who will hold her memory close to their hearts.

Vondell was preceded in death by two loving husbands, James Thompson Pledge, Sr. and John Spytko. She also mourned the loss of her son, Carleton Blane Pledge, and her beloved sisters, Lucille Westbrook and Wanda Thompson. Vondell was the daughter of Frank and Lola Redden, whose influence shaped her warm and kind nature.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, located at 10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101, starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place immediately following at Michigan Memorial Park.
