Walter Sample

Sample, Walter. Age 86 of Trenton. Born July 9, 1927 and died July 6, 2014. Beloved husband of 63 years to Barbara (nee: Colbath). Loving father of Laurie (Dennis) O'Meara. Proud grandpa of Michael (Lauren) O'Meara and the late Matthew O'Meara. Dearest brother of David (Ruth) Sample, Richard (Raeleen) Sample, the late William Sample and the late Mary Ann Ridder. Also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter graduated from Melvindale High School and served his Country in the United States Navy; on October 14, 1950 he married Barbara J. Colbath at Church of the Ascension in Detroit. He was a retired Sergeant with the Detroit Police Department and also worked as a security officer at the Detroit Medical Center; he loved watching television, especially football.
