Wanda Colson was a resident of Lincoln Park. Michigan and died on July 16, 2026 at St, Mary’s Trinity in Livonia, Michigan. Wanda, a true southern lady, was born in Statesboro, GA and came to be a resident of Michigan in her 30s. Her careers have included Administration of a medical facility, and an Educator for the Taylor School District. Wanda stated her greatest achievements, besides her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchild, were her students, who frequently visited even after graduation.
Wanda was a person who loved unconditionally, and she was forever grateful for her neighbors, friends, and caregivers who touched her life. She lived her life to the fullest of her ability, never complaining. Throughout several illnesses she thanked God for another day to be with the people she loved and always kept a smile on her face, regardless of the circumstances.
Over the years, Wanda willingly opened her home and her heart to so many, always with a warm hug, a full table, and an ear to hear. Her favorite times included various holidays, her quiet times chatting with neighbors or friends, shopping for special occasions with the people she loved the most, and watching those around her thrive. She never asked for, or complained about anything, but stood tall alongside others during her journey and theirs.
Wanda was a true beacon of God’s love for so many, and forever, a piece of our hearts will be missed.
Visitation will take place Saturday, July 25, at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes from 2:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 5:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Wanda.
