Cherished mother of Cedric Malone and Taessa Malone-Carter (Michael). Dear grandmother of Taelor Carter and Madison Carter. Loving sister of Dorothy Partee, Bernice Shorter, Shirley (Willie) Daniels, Brenda Caldwell, Maevelyn (Billy) Miles, Annette Allen, Harold Glenn (Diane) Midgett, Aquarnetta (Willie) McCurrie, and Debbie Midgett-Montgomery. Best friend to Alva Teasley of over 40 years. Wavie is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Malone, her parents L.V. and Hattie Midgett and her siblings Horace Ray Carter, Laverne Halton, and Levi Midgett, Jr. Wavie Jean Malone was a pioneer and leader within the family. At the age of 18, she left everything she knew in Tennessee, in search for something better. Described by her family as the head “phenomenal woman” in their lives, she will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Wavie Jean was loved by so many. She was the matriarch of the Midgett family. She gave emotional support and comfort toanyone who needed it. She was the backbone that kept us together; the comforter when tears would overflow. She “walked the walk and talked the talk.” Wavie Jean will always be the light that will forever shine in our hearts. She had a very special relationship with each of us. At an early age, Wavie took on the role of second mother to many. One relationship in particular that was very near and dear to her heart was with Aquarnetta whom she affectionately called “Meachie.” She was a mother to Aquarnetta and a grandmother to Meachie’s children. When “Meachie’s” daughter, Courtney was born, she was affectionately nicknamed “Da Jean” after Wavie Jean. They had a special bond that held such a fond place in Wavie’s heart. She proudly accepted the honor and walked in as an honorary grandmother in Kelsie’s wedding. Naiya Jordan, whom she affectionately called her first grandchild, called Wavie Jean, “Nana.” She loved her dearly. When Naiya was born and Wavie held her for the first time, she cried tears of joy. From that moment, they connected and created a bond that can never be broken. Wavie loved the Lord and spent time studying the word of God and praying for her family. She was loved and will be missed by many.
