Wilfred "Fred Bear" Landry, a devoted family man and respected skilled tradesman, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Wyandotte, Michigan. Born on May 16, 1967, Fred's life was marked by deep love for his family, a commitment to his faith, and a passion for the great outdoors.
Fred dedicated much of his life to his career in the automotive industry, specifically as a skilled tradesman for Ford Motor Company. His hard work and dedication not only shaped his career, but also provided for his beloved family. He truly embraced the spirit of craftsmanship and took pride in every project he undertook.
Beyond his professional life, Fred's personality shined brightly. He was a family man through and through, adored by his wife, Kim Johnson-Landry, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a loving home, where laughter and warmth thrived. Fred's legacy lives on through his children, Michael (Jessica) Venier and Nicole Landry (Brian Cieslak), who carry forward the values he instilled in them. His grandchildren – Arianna (Devin), Ethan, Maliyah, Aubrey, Madison, and Mckenna – and great-grandson, Maverick, were his pride and joy, offering him countless moments of happiness and fulfillment.
Fred had a deep love for nature and cherished time spent outdoors. An avid fisherman and passionate rock collector, he found great solace while rock hunting on the shores of Lake Superior, where he reveled in the beauty of his surroundings. His enthusiasm for life extended to his love for animals, further underlining the kind and gentle spirit that defined him.
Fred is survived by his brothers, Mark Landry, Richard Landry, and Eric (Gloria) Landry, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who were fortunate to know him. They will remember him as a source of support, laughter, and unconditional love.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Fite, and his mother-in-law, Carole Johnson, who welcomed him into their family with open arms.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on July 8, 2025, at The Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes in Allen Park, Michigan. The visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 5:00 PM. Friends and family are encouraged to gather and share their memories, honoring the life and legacy of Fred Landry.
