William F. Durkin

William was born November 19, 1950 to William & Frances(Griffiths)Durkin in Youngstown, OH. He graduated East High School, Youngstown in 1968. Bill served his country honorably in The U.S. Marine Corps from 1970-1972. He was an active member of the Men's Auxillary and VFW Post#3943 in Newport, MI. Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, horseshoes, shooting pool and being at the lake. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, family & friends. He also loved his Ohio State Buckeyes GO BUCKS. Bill leaves behind a son, Shawn Durkin and a daughter, Lori Durkin both of Youngstown OH; 5 grandchildren, Shawn, Jessica, Dylan, Michael & Michala; sister Marjorie(Stephen)Gardiner of Newport; brother, Timothy(Kristine)Durkin of Carleton; 2 nephes & 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill was a loving father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. Cremation has been held. A wake for famiy and friends was held at William's home on Saturday, January 3, 2009.
