In Loving Memory of William Dewey Sparks

“Dewey”, who filled his life with joy, music, and the warmth of the people he cherished, passed away peacefully on November 22nd, surrounded by family. He was 64 years old.

From an early age, “Dewey” found comfort and inspiration in the simple act of being present—whether taking long walks to clear his mind, exploring new places, or savoring quiet moments with the people he loved. Music was always with him, especially the blues, a genre whose soul and honesty spoke directly to his heart.

“Dewey” treasured laughter and connection. He was never happier than when he was in good company, sharing stories, jokes, and unforgettable moments with friends who truly understood him. His family was his foundation, and he devoted himself to creating lasting memories, offering support, and showing love in both big and small ways.

He had a true spirit of adventure. Traveling brought him joy, and he embraced every opportunity to discover new experiences. He loved attending concerts and sporting events, cheering proudly for his favorite teams.

Those who knew “Dewey” will remember him for his generous heart, his curious soul, his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, and the way his presence could make any room feel a little lighter.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Natasha Sparks (Kevin), Nola Parker (Zack), and Kiera Burkitt, his loving grandchildren, Avery, Talia, Jude, Jonah, Alex, Kiley, and Alyssa. He is preceded in death by his daughter Nevada Sparks, father Samuel “Jim” Sparks, mother Mary “Phyllis” Sparks, brothers Samuel Sparks Jr., and Thomas Sparks. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

May he rest in peace, his spirit carried on the melodies he adored and the laughter he shared.
