Yvette Roberta Popler, whose warmth and love brightened the lives of many, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, in Woodhaven, Michigan. Born on September 10, 1942, in the city of Detroit, she filled her days with kindness, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Yvette was a devoted mother to her five children: Yvonne Partington, Dorothy Newman, Dennis Partington Jr., Deborah (Dan) Despirito, and Michael (Julia) Popler Jr. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family as she embraced each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with open arms and a heart full of love. She is survived by her grandchildren: Glenn Trivette Jr., Stephanie McCall, Brooke Ratliff, Terry Petry, Amber Despirito, Grayson Popler, Lincoln Popler, and Emmerson Popler. Additionally, she showered her great-grandchildren with affection, including Sean McCall, Seth McCall, Sophie Wright, Makenzie Justice, Hunter Ratliff, Layla Ratliff, Nadia Wyatt, and Bryson Ratliff. Yvette also had the joy of welcoming her great-great-grandson, Xavier Cleveland, into her loving family. Loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Cherette Boza, Michelle Flippo, Charles Knapp, and Thomas Knapp.
Yvette's journey through life was marked by resilience and unyielding strength, especially with the memory of her beloved son, Brian Allen Popler, who predeceased her. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who cherished him.
A visitation honoring Yvette's life will be held on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family Of Funeral Homes, located at 3200 West Rd, Trenton, MI 48183. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
Yvette Roberta Popler will be remembered not only for her role as a loving mother and grandmother but also for her generous spirit and the joy she brought into the world. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of cherished memories, and though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
